Test Procedure

In the certification laboratory the test methodology for client and server products is generally identical. The OPC member company registers the product for certification testing at the OPC Foundation.

During the online registration process the vendor describes the OPC functions, environment conditions and special requirements of the test candidate product. This list of functionality is correlated with the defined test cases and an aligned test set for this particular product is generated. Here an estimation of the duration of the test and the required reservation of a time slot in the laboratory is done.

The vendor prepares a configuration, arrives with his product at the lab and installs it into the test environment. While a vendor representative is present the tests are performed and the results are documented.

The OPC Foundation assigns the certificate and the effective time in the laboratory will be billed to the vendor.
